Please find below copy of email sent to our local Borough Councillors at RBC;
Good afternoon,
As you may be aware, officers have been working on a project to consolidate the number of garages in our ownership and bring forward brownfield sites for development or repurposing. This plan was approved at Council on 24th September 2025. As such, I am writing to let you know that garage sites in your Ward are being brought forward for disposal.
The sites being brought forward for disposal are Meadow Close (Ansty), Birchwood Road (Binley Woods) and Skipwith Close (Brinklow).
Over the next few weeks, the Council will be writing to any existing tenants to inform them of our plan and give them notice to end any existing tenancies. Where possible, we will offer tenants alternative garage sites for their use if requested, however this will not be possible in all cases. We will prioritise tenants residing in houses owned by Rugby Borough Council when offering alternative garage sites.
The sites will be offered on the open market to enable the Council to achieve best value for the site. If any parties wish to be notified when the site comes to the market they can register their interest by emailing estatesandproperty@rugby.gov.uk.
Please do let me know if you have any further questions about this process.
Kindregards,
Sian Swain
