Following various recent discussions regarding street lights in the village, may I advise you of the following:-

In respect of maintaining the lights, we tour the village every 4 – 6 weeks and advise Eon of any faults we find and are then reliant upon Eon to attend the fault and repair or replace as necessary. Just for interest, we completed our latest review yesterday evening and found 10 faulty lights, some of which had previously been reported and are awaiting repair.
In recognition of the number of faults we were experiencing, the Parish Council had a meeting with Eon and we have agreed a maintenance programme that will not only test and inspect all columns, but will also clean the lanterns and renumber the columns to make future identification easier. We are also planning in the longer term a complete replacement of the older lanterns with more energy efficient LED units and eventually replace the aged concrete standards with steel.
