GRAFFITI

I’m sorry to have to report this. Some call it Graffiti, I call it vandalism.

The attached photo shows a recent act of vandalism, this one being in the small recreation ground. This is just an example, but the tag is evident throughout the village: on the pavilion walls, park benches, litter bins and roadside utility cabinets. In respect of the pavilion, you may have noticed that we have incurred significant expenditure on refurbishing the building and surroundings, and are currently refurbishing the interior and we certainly don't want this spoiled by mindless vandals.

To see these sheer acts of vandalism throughout the village, it is really disheartening, not only to the Parish Council, but I expect to all of you who read this. A further event happened on 17th August when "Bath Bombs" were smashed on the upper deck of the skateboard facility. This has since been largely cleaned off today, but upon inspection, the evidence of graffiti is disturbing, with much of the skateboard surface smothered in this paint, much of which features the tag shown in the photo; Sankhe26. The Parish Council are at the moment  in the process of identifying those responsible and are hoping that parents will take appropriate action to prevent further incidents and also pay for the clean up and/or repair.

If you have any information at all, please pass it on to any of the Parish Councillors.
